I found myself watching football yesterday and a commercial came on basically proclaiming that we need more of God’s love. At first I thought that it might be one of ‘our’ UMC commercials (which would have been way cool). I also thought that it could be one of the Mormon commercials. W
hen I saw the end of the commercial I was shocked because it was by Interstate Batteries. What do Interstate Batteries have to do with God and his love? Well, I guess the chairman is a strong Christian (He is on the board of Dallas Theological Seminary) and has decided to use his position to spread the message about God’s love. I’ve included the video below that has both a message from the chairman of Interstate Batteries and the commercial itself.
Perhaps Norm Miller can be an inspiration to us all. He is using his ‘place in life’ to spread God’s love the best way he knows how. What would happen if we all followed his example? We might not be a CEO, or able to put commercials on TV, but there is always something we can do to spread and/or share God’s love with those around us. The commercial is right….we certainly need God’s love!

I agree totally, what a way to spread God’s word and to see that at the end of the commercial, awesome.
My husband and I were watching TV the other night when my husband left the room during the commercial break–God’s Love came on, and was just about over when he came back. He said right away–”Hey what was that about?” I said “Rewind, it is really neat” So he did and we were both admiring the courage and commitment of INterstate Batteries. All we can say is Wow–and Yes, we do ALL need God’s love. Thank you for reminding us in such a simple, yet special way! I wish there was more companies willing to produce commercials like this.
May God Bless You and Yours, & Merry CHRISTmas!
I work for at&t and our ceo could take a lesson from this man.
Right after I saw the commercial I went down to Knecht’s Auto Parts, bought a new battery, & got rid of my Interstate. I now roll with a Die Hard battery, because I think everyone needs a little Bruce Willis love in their hearts. Yippy Ki Aye- now those are words I think we can all live by.
I wonder how all you XTIANS would feel if the message was from the Church of Satan. I wonder would you all have your panties in a bunch over it? Of course you would, because is your god or hell. I wish more didots like this would be so open about what they believe, that way I would know what not to purchase.
Wheather you realize it or not, you have just opened the door for your salvation. The only prayer God will hear from a sinner is the prayer of repentance, and plea for forgiveness in the name of Jesus. It is the duty of all born again beliveres to pray for the lost. Right now, every Christian who has read your comment is praying for you.
It’s non denominational. God’s love is for all of us,everywhere on this planet, in this universe. God’s Love Is Our Love.
but only if it were real.
Yeah that makes sense assuming you’re a Christian of any denomination, if you’re an atheist or agnostic it’s irrational and unnecessary. Treat others as you would like to be treated and leave “God” out of it.
That makes no sense for you to be offended by the message…
Well, if you leave God out of it, one is pretty helpless… Have you tried it on a daily basis!! I’d say good luck , but it takes much more that that… It takes GOD. Get real… How are you doing?!
Of course it makes sense. God created man to live in communion with Him. When they reject Him, they have a bitterness, emptiness and yes- anger- that they don’t understand. That, and His law being written on their hearts, causes them to react in this kind of manner any time they are reminded of what they are missing… and what they have willfully rejected. Human pride at work: they may not be happy, but at least there isn’t Anyone telling them what to do!
I found it so sad when people take offense at the words God or Jesus…but hey budha, mohammad, islam, is a….ok!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, but this country, (my country) was founded on GOD’S principles…whether you accept it or not.
Ever ask yourself what you find so offensive about the God who loves you unconditionally? Now, God is not religious, people are. It is a personal relationship with him. Just you two, just as you are. What more could one ask for.
Personally, I am tired of someone always trying to take away our beloved Godly rights.
God’s mercy is everlasting. And I personally want to say I am proud of Interstate batteries for taking a stand on their beliefs!! We need more people like you Bill. May God continue to richly bless you. Plus, it made me feel wonderful!
God is love.
whyhate
God loves me unconditionally huh? Then why all the jacked up rules? And for the record, I happen to be agnostic, but I really don’t care what other people believe, just shut up about it. My problem isn’t with people’s personal feelings towards god, but with promoting religion (and yes, there is a difference between god and religion). As far as whoever said what harm is in it, um, go read a history book, as almost every war and terrorist act in history has been based on religion. And before you spout off about how thats the islamics, go read about Catholics and Protestants in Europe, specifically Ireland and England. What’s wrong with God? Nothing at all. Whats wrong with religion? It is intolerant of other peoples beliefs, like my belief that God doesn’t support the sale of batteries.
Sorry I haven’t been checking the comment queue lately.
Actually, it isn’t God or religion that is the problems. It’s people. We tend to do things that hurt others and ourselves. Those who don’t believe in God might say it is just how people are. Those who don’t really like God might say it is the way God has created us. Others might say it is sin, the choice to live by our own standards rather that following God.
As anonymous has so aptly pointed out the bad side of religion, I think there should be equal time given to the good side too. Is there any good to religion? Is it all bad? I don’t think it is all bad. As I travel around I see a lot of hospitals with names of saints or denominations on the sign. I know all the Clarion hospitals in Indiana (I think they are now part of the IU network) were started by the Methodist church. Also there are quite a few charities that take care of the individuals that society would rather forget. I could go on, but hopefully I made the point.
Sure, at times religion is intolerant of other people’s beliefs, I’m not sure where we would be without the good it has done throughout history.
And if the message said "all praise allah and if you worship a man allah will cast you into hell." that would make YOU feel all warm and fuzzy right?
I for one no longer will buy interstate batteries. I have for years and now will not purchase any. Neither will many other people. Great marketing stratedgy. Telling 30% of americans to go **** themselves. 33% to be exact and that number is growing as religous numbers keep falling.
Pretty soon the need to beleive in Zombies and Men who live in the sky can go on the burial heep of such things as Slavery (bible endorsed) misogyny (Bible endorsed) and the rape and destruction of people who do not worship as you (Bible endorsed).
And for the record I am against all theism equally not just chritians. Had interstate been owned by a muslim and they sent the hate filled message that interstate did i would boycott it just the same.
How EXACTLY does a message of Love equal a message of hate??
